An overarching goal of the project is to empower residents to have a voice in the processes that affect walkability and pedestrian safety, all while celebrating what makes these communities so wonderful.
— Jaime Fearer, California Walks

City Fabrick is collaborating with California Walks – a statewide organization of affiliated nonprofit and volunteer groups dedicated to creating healthy safe, and walkable communities – and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department to replicate Walk Long Beach in a second community. City Fabrick applied and expanded educational material, including translations into Vietnamese, as well as Spanish and Khmer from the base program. Material also included the prototype for an engaging Safe Routes to School map and guide for safe walking and bicycling, specifically oriented to young students. City Fabrick also facilitated a train-the-trainer walking workshop for local advocates and stakeholders and kicked off the initial collection of six walking loops.
