This two month-long arts program linked the world of arts and culture with local neighborhoods by temporarily activating vacant lots with a variety of free art installations and performances. Programmed by the Arts Council for Long Beach and funded with a National Endowment for the Arts grant, the A [LOT] initiative brought together dozens of community artists to engage with residents of the North, Central, and Downtown areas of Long Beach. City Fabrick developed a visual brand identity and multimedia platform for the initiative and assisted with outreach and communications, which included the design and development of a mobile device-friendly website, interactive site banners, ‘guerilla’ style street postings, event posters, unique 3D ‘tentacular’ postcard, as well as traditional print and digital advertisements for local newspapers and media outlets.
