The Long Beach Sign Guide is a user-friendly sign guidebook designed in partnership with the City of Long Beach Department of Development Services. As the City was updating the citywide commercial sign ordinance, City Fabrick provided graphic support for informational graphics within the 80-page ordinance as well as developing Long Beach’s Sign Guidebook made up of the portions of the ordinance most relevant to the vast majority of applicants, depicted in a thoughtful collection of diagrams, infographics, photographs and tables. The graphics and text are playfully designed and arranged for clarity and approachability, considering many of the users of this document are business owners, who are more familiar with clothing, food service, or entertainment than sign design. The sign guidebook maintains graphic continuity from the initial definitions of sign types, through the sections elaborating on each them, to the detailed design criteria for fabrication and installation. The City of Long Beach Sign Guide can be found here.
